If you demand the best this is it. When we have a customer come into the shop with a $5000+ high dollar acoustic who’s looking for that type of quality and sound but with easier playability, the 900 is the only guitar we go to. Unlike our 20 and 50 Series guitars Denny uses a special bracing system on the 900 that allows the face to move half a millimeter more giving it more projection and power. When you hit a string on the 900 you feel it resonate through your gut. There’s very few guitars today that can do this, especially new guitars, and when you find one it’s usually the price of a small car. Read more

- Smaller “OM Size” Orchestra Model. 15% smaller than full size. Similar to Martin OOO and Taylor Grand Auditorium. - Venetian cutaway box design allows you to slide down low into the box for easier playability.

Venetian Cutaway Style A "Venetian Cutaway" is a guitar that has a section of the body "cut away" by the neck which makes it easier to slide your hand down low to reach chords near the sound hole. Denny braces the cutaways a little differently then his full box guitars so sound quality matches. If you’re a player that spends a lot of time on that part of the neck a cutaway box is invaluable.
Grade A Sitka Spruce Top Top Sitka which is known for its strength and durability comes from the Northern coast of British Columbia up into Alaska. It tends to have a warm pinkish/tan hue to it. Spruce offers a tight, punchy low end response with great projection. Players who demand a powerful sound with tons of projection will hear the benefit of a Sitka spruce top. Used on only the highest quality acoustic guitars in the world. |
Indian Rosewood 900CE Back-sides One of the most popular and traditional guitar woods of all time. Where mahogany lends itself to the midrange, rosewoods sonic profile is deeper in the low end. Not to take anything away from mahogany as many players will find it difficult to tell them apart, but the dedicated ear will notice a deeper, richer, sweeter tone coming from a rosewood guitar.
Hand Bent Figured Maple Binding Figured Maple binding is not only beautiful to look at but it also protects your guitar from bumps and nicks in daily use. Found generally on guitars exceeding the $2000+ price point.
Mahogany with Inlay Neck Mahogany—one of the most popular tone woods used on acoustic guitars for the last 50 years. Complete with hand laid contrast inlay.
Indian Rosewood Headstock Indian rosewood is commonly found on high-end guitars. This wood is heavier and more dense than mahogany and also is very stable and resonant. East Indian Rosewood is dark brown with sometimes purple-brown streaks giving a pleasant figure. The guitar head stock configuration is a registered trademark and is used under license from C.F. Martin & Co. Inc. of Nazareth, Pennsylvania, USA.
Zager Design (Hand Scalloped) Bracework The technique of scalloping or shaving the braces can have a huge impact on the power and tone of an acoustic guitar. By shaving or reducing the thickness of the brace, it becomes more flexible and therefore lets the top move more freely. When done by a Master Luthier the brace maintains its structural integrity, while making the top more efficient. The result is faster attack, longer sustain, more bass, more power, and an overall improvement in the whole tone system.
Full Abalone Inlay Inlay Abalone inlay is found on only the highest quality guitars. Laid by hand one piece at a time, the color and translucence of each piece changes with different amounts of light. Not only does it add to the overall look of your guitar, but it also adds to the value. Our 900 Pro Series guitars have an inlay rosette around the sound hole in combination with inlay around the entire face as well as small cross fret markers going up the fret board
Pearl Cross Fret-markers Used on only the highest quality guitars. Laid by hand on the fret board one piece at a time. It's a very tedious, time consuming process but the results are breathtaking
Figured Maple Inlay Back-detail This accent matches the guitars figured binding and abalone inlay perfectly to give it that extra expensive look of a pro series guitar. Laid by hand one piece at a time. Adds to the overall beauty and sets off the color of the wood. Found on only the highest quality guitars in the world.
High Gloss Finish High-gloss finish provides excellent protection but at the same time is extremely light and elastic. This is a crucial point in both the sound of the guitar and its ability to age—which is what makes a guitar sound better year after year. A thick finish muffles a guitar's vibration and blocks aging.
Custom Adjustment Setting Truss-rod Denny designs his guitars with a truss rod adjustment setting that allows you to dial in your guitar to your particular playing style. In this way if you're a heavy handed player you can set the action higher so you can "get on it" a little for more power, and if you're lighter handed touch player you can dial in the action low so you can move faster and play longer with less fatigue.
2023 Fishman Aura Pro Electronics Denny wanted only the finest electronics system for the 900 series so he called Larry Fishman at world renowned "Fishman Transducers." Fishman's new Aura digital imaging system allows you to plug into your computer and download hundreds of sound images that have been professionally mixed in Fishmans pro recording studios. You can select from images mixed specifically for your Zager, or hundreds of others depending on the sound you’re looking for. Denny used to spend countless hours in studio time dialing in the perfect sound for his guitars. Fishmans new imaging system does this for you by allowing you to select from images online that will give you the sound you want no matter what you're looking for. Read the reviews, talk to the pros, and you will see this system dominates every guitar electronics package on the market today.
Genuine Fishman Aura Built-in-automatic-tuner Ask any pro who makes the finest guitar electronics systems in the world and 9 out of 10 will say Fishman. An electronic tuner allows you to tune your guitar in a fraction of the time it takes using conventional tuning methods. Simply hit a string and the LCD indicator guides you into perfect pitch. A red and green light instantly lets you know when the tune is dead on. This is a very important tool for the new player who is trying to develop and train their ear for perfect pitch. It's also helps the professional player who wants to get in perfect tune fast.
Genuine Fishman Aura Built-in-equalizer Fishman equalizers are the highest quality equalizers used in acoustic guitars today. The equalizer is an electronic unit that controls the sound and volume when plugged into an amplifier or PA system. There are adjustments for highs, mids, lows, and presence. Fishman EQ's are used exclusively on high end acoustics by artists such as Bob Dylan, Paul McCartney, Alan Jackson and Aerosmith to name just a few
Genuine Grover (gold) Tuning-machines Genuine Grover sealed tuning machines are found on only the finest guitars made. Look at tuners on $2500+ acoustics and you will see the majority have "Grovers." Unlike open gear tuners where the tuning mechanism is exposed, Grover sealed tuners contain a lubricant that keep the tuning mechanism sealed air-tight so the gears turn smooth and continue to for the life of your instrument. Lifetime warranty. If you have a tuner go bad we'll replace it free of charge for life.
Bone Hand Carved Nut Denny hand carves his nuts from bone for each guitar so the strings are set lower with custom spacing. Lower string heights make it easier to press down to form chords and it also increases finger speed. Custom spacing allows you to move faster with less buzzes, mutes, and rattles because you’re no longer bumping adjacent strings. Custom string spacing makes it easier for all hands sizes big and small. Lifetime warranty. Break a nut and we'll replace it free of charge for life
Tusq Hand Carved Saddle Denny hand carves each saddle for each individual guitar. Denny also adjusts the intonation settings to bring the guitar harmonically in balance with itself. This not only makes your guitar easier to play, but it also makes it sound more powerful. Customers say our guitars fall into tune easier and stay in tune longer...this is one of the reasons why. Denny uses only genuine "Tusq" brand saddles on his guitars which you generally only find on higher dollar acoustics . Lifetime warranty. Break a saddle and we'll replace it free of charge for life.
Zager Custom Lights Strings Zager custom strings are designed by Denny exclusively for his Guitars. We have customers using all brands and gauges of strings on our guitars with excellent results (Elixir, Martin, Fender, Gibson, D'addario) but these are the strings our customers seem to like the most on our guitars. Hand wound daily in our shop in Lincoln, Nebraska.
Zager Soft Touch (Hand Filed) Frets Denny hand files each fret one at a time on every guitar that leaves our shop. By filing the frets Denny achieves two important things. When sliding up and down the neck your fingers will no longer get irritated and sore and you won't suffer from what we call "String Bite" and overall finger fatigue. Secondly, when you file the frets by hand each fret will have the same uniform height. 9 times out of 10 when you have a buzzing string it has nothing to with your playing, it’s because you have a guitar with a fret that’s sitting away from the fret board hitting a string.
Lifetime Warranty Our warranty is simple. Lifetime on all guitars. A quality guitar should be made to last a lifetime and if it doesn't it wasn't a quality guitar to begin with. |

How does this guitar compare with your old guitar, other guitars, or guitars you've tried in stores?
Thats an easy question. The similarityis that they had six strings and were CALLED guitars. The current one that I'm replacing is made by Global (made in Korea) that I picked up on sale years ago.
What's your favorite part about this guitar?
That's very hard for to answer because there is so many top attributes that fit in my favorite catagory, but if I had to choose only one, it is the way that it plays so easy. The fret height and string spacing are a tremendous difference from all the others that I've tried. Running a close second is the incredibly rich sound.
If you didn't know the price of this guitar what would you estimate the price to be?
From what I have been looking at in a music guitar store, I would place it among their top of the line sellers for acoustic/electric guitars, which is from $1500 to $2000, to get close to the same feel and sound.
How would you rate customer support?
In my short time dealing with Dennis and Zager Guitar I would like to say that the support and advise were excellant, timely and made me feel that they really cared what I thought. They treated me more like a friend than a new customer.
Would you recommend this guitar to others…if so why?
I would not hesitate to recommend Zager Guitars to anyone that I knew was looking to get the best guitar for their money. It is truely an investment, and made in the USA.
Additional comments:
I was also pleasantly surprised when I saw the Zager Guitar case. It realy is remarkable and has a digital humidity/temperature indicator along with its high density construction. I didn't expect something that sturdy. I'm looking forward to my free guitar lesson which I also did not expect. If I lived closer to Zager I would take lessons in person.

How does this guitar compare with your old guitar, other guitars, or guitars you've tried in stores?
Quality and workmanship is second to none. Tone is bright up and down the scale. Mid-high harmonics add a to a very rich tone.
What's your favorite part about this guitar?
Tone and quality.
If you didn't know the price of this guitar what would you estimate the price to be?
$3000 +
How would you rate customer support?
Awesome. You do it right!
Would you recommend this guitar to others…if so why?
Yes. The 900 is a very playable instrument with tone that is very clean. And you'll not find better quality. On top of that, it's a great looking guitar.
Additional comments:
I am now the owner of a 80 and 900 (pure acoustic). The 900 is in a different class. It's brighter tone yet still warm. If you are considering a 900,I'd recommend you make the jump. You'll not be disappointed!

How does this guitar compare with your old guitar, other guitars, or guitars you've tried in stores?
I have acquired several other 6 string acoustics over the years--Takamine, Tacoma, Ovation, Larrivee, Washburn. This guitar is far superior to all of them except the $3000+ Larrivee. (I think I paid $695 for the Zager in 1994.)I really can't hear any difference between them, but the Zager has electronics, so I give it the nod. If you compare prices, though, the Zager is a far better value.
What's your favorite part about this guitar?
I can't decide my favorite part. The guitar is absolutely beautiful, sounds wonderful, stays in tune, and is so easy to play.
If you didn't know the price of this guitar what would you estimate the price to be?
Maybe $1500 to $2000.
How would you rate customer support?
Perfect.
Would you recommend this guitar to others…if so why?
Yes, and I have. Anyone who has played this guitar is very impressed.
Additional comments:
I have had a number of guitar players who have played 10 to 40 years play my ZAD80CE. Everyone is impressed. One particular guy, who had played for about 25 years said this was the best guitar he ever had in his hands. Note: I purchased the Larrivee after the Zager, for twice the price (used) thinking I would get a much better guitar. That was not the case. Don't get me wrong--the Larrivee is a nice guitar, but I don't feel it is any better than the Zager, and for the price, there is no question which is the better value.

How does this guitar compare with your old guitar, other guitars, or guitars you've tried in stores?
The Zager guitar sounds so absolutely wonderful, just like the higher end Martin guitars we tried in the stores. The Zagger seems to have a special sound. You can feel the made with love, care, and pride.
What's your favorite part about this guitar?
That it seems to be made by a man with a calling. Like a German craftsman clock maker.
If you didn't know the price of this guitar what would you estimate the price to be?
1,000- 2,000 dollars

Oh yes, because of the fine craftmanship, and easy playability.

How does this guitar compare with your old guitar, other guitars, or guitars you've tried in stores?
I have told my family, friends, and new aquaintances, that it is by far the best sounding and easiest to play guitar I have ever owned or played! I went to guitar center, and went in to the room where the higher priced guitars are, Gibson, & Martin, and played many guitars side by side in a 2 hr. session of comparisons. It was only when I played it against a $3,100 Martin that I feel I found it's equal in sound, but not 100% equal in playability. I realize that to each player it is subjective, but this is my strong opinion, and I put the time in in my comparison.
What's your favorite part about this guitar?
What's not to love! Everything about it is my favorite! I will begin with the playability. One of the guitars I own is a Fender Newporter Vintage Acoustic with the Strat Style Neck. These are a little easier to play than your average Acoustic guitar, and I have had people play it who would agree. But, every time I let someone play it, and then play the Zager ZAD80CE, their reaction is exactly the same as mine...WOW!!!! They don't want to hand the guitar back. They say they have never played something so incredibly easy to play, and they say it makes their playing sound so much better. Easier Chord changing, and easier picking, less fatigue on our fingers and so much more enjoyable to play. When I saw the incredible workmanship of this "Made in the U.S.A! Masterpiece" I want to just keep going over and over it with my friends and children who play also, studying and critiquing the guitar, and continue to impress myself over and over again, and all at the amazingly low price that you can own this guitar & very nice case with temp & humidity Gauge. The Sounds that this guitar makes weather unplugged or Amped through my Acoustic AG30 & Behringer Ultracoustic ACX450 Acoustic Guitar Amplifier, is nothing short of amazing!!!
If you didn't know the price of this guitar what would you estimate the price to be?
I would assume it was at least a $2,000 - $2,500 Guitar & Case.

Customer support is Amazing! I wrote an email after midnight, probably 3am Nebraska time, and logged into my email in the morning to find a very pleasurable response. I continued to have a dialogue through email back and forth a few times with almost immediate responses. Extremely professional, thoughtful, informative & helpful! Best in Support!
Would you recommend this guitar to others…if so why?
I have given this guitar to my daughter, and am currently saving to buy the ZAD900CE in the coming months. I still get to play it, but only when she's not using it :-) I put the Fender Newporter up for sale because I just can't play it anymore after hearing such a difference, and also becoming frustrated with it's playability compared to my Zager ZAD80CE! I will never buy another Acoustic Guitar other than a Zager. I can guarantee that if you buy one and play it for only a Day, you will be sold on it for life, whether you are a beginner, intermediate, or Pro! Nothing for the money compares, and you would spend double to triple to even begin to find anything that even comes close. The Neck on this guitar is amazing! Great Science, Great Research and Development! Mr. Zager Really put in the time developing such fine Guitars! Kudos to the family & the Company as a whole! I can only imagine how the ZAD900CE is going to make my experience even more wonderful!!! :-)
Additional comments:
I just can't seem to say enough good things about this very fine instrument, and the wonderful people who made it possible! I am looking forward to spreading the news to as many people as I possibly can! Thank you Zager Guitars & the Zager Family!

How does this guitar compare with your old guitar, other guitars, or guitars you've tried in stores?
I've been playing guitar for well over forty years. In my youth, I played in a band that won the South Florida Battle of the Bands and played guitar in a high school stage band with a friend who is now one of Nashville's top studio guitarists. I've owned guitars manufactured by Gibson, Fender, Epiphone, Paul Reed Smith, Washburn, Martin, and Simon & Patrick, amongst others. In short, I'm not a novice at playing guitar. While most of my guitar playing has involved electric instruments, the Zager 80CE looks and sounds better than any acoustic I've ever owned, even though some others have cost considerably more.
What's your favorite part about this guitar?
Although the Zager 80CE has many excellent features, its tone is my favorite part. The dreadnought body produces an extremely smooth, rich sound. Individual notes are clear and sharp, while chords resonate beautifully. This has to be one of the nicest-sounding acoustic/electric guitars I've ever heard.
If you didn't know the price of this guitar what would you estimate the price to be?
This is difficult to say exactly but, based on Martins with comparable features, I'd guess this guitar would be priced in the $2000. to $3000. range.
How would you rate customer support?
Absolutely exceptional! Any company that offers a true no-cost return policy, free strings and other bonuses, and is as quick to respond to inquiries and questions as Zager is deserves every accolade it receives. I can honestly state that Zager's customer service is the best I've ever experienced from any company, and that's saying a lot!
Would you recommend this guitar to others…if so why?
Without question! Based on my recommendation, one friend has already purchased a Zager and raves about it; I've recommended Zager guitars to several other players, as well.
Additional comments:
If you purchase a Zager guitar, definitely get a Zager case to go with it. The case is a bargain for the price, and it's absolutely the highest-quality case I own. When I look at it, the phrase "bazooka-proof" comes to mind - and who else includes a digital thermometer/humidity meter with their cases? Zager doesn't appear to cut corners when it comes to quality.

Really no comparison between it and my old guitar. This one is so much better! I have played a lot of different guitars recently ( some very pricy ones ) and this one is my favorite.
What's your favorite part about this guitar?
So far I love everything about it! But if I had to pick just one it would be it's ease of play.

Additional comments:
Again, I want to thank Dennis for his prompt and honest assistance with my purchase. He seemed to always be available. Never had to wait over 15 minutes for any of my questions to be answered. Also a big thank you to Denny for his quality craftmanship on my beautiful guitar!! I wish you guys nothing but success in the future.

How does this guitar compare with your old guitar, other guitars, or guitars you've tried in stores?
I have a classical guitar and a 12 string acoustic. In May of this year I started sitting in with my church praise band. I have not played the guitar seriously in 50 years. Learning old chords, new chords and bar-chords was very difficult on the two guitars I own. I shopped for a guitar for two months, making regular visits to the local Guitar Center. The Zager is much easier to play than the lower end Martins I was considering buying. The ZAD80CE has a tonal quality which is rich and resonating, like guitars I looked at from $1700 to $3000.
What's your favorite part about this guitar?
I have three favorite parts, the tonal quality, the playability and the flawless craftmanship and finish my Zager has.
If you didn't know the price of this guitar what would you estimate the price to be?
This guitar would sell for twice the web-site price, $2000.
How would you rate customer support?
Customer service has been fast, responsive and very friendly.
Would you recommend this guitar to others…if so why?
I have recommended this guitar to others. So far everyone who tries out the Zager is impressed with the neck and action of the strings.
Additional comments:
I was really sold on the quality control standards of Zager guitar. Each guitar is built by the same person, inspected and re-inspected. The workmanship and finish are really impressive when you first open the case. I can tell these guitars are made with a passion for perfection and precision. The craftmanship of the Zager truley surpasses any guitar I have played at any music store.

How does this guitar compare with your old guitar, other guitars, or guitars you've tried in stores?
I have had Gibsons, Epiphones, a Goya etc and it is much easier to play than any of them. I tried many guitars in stores, but I couldn't find one with a wide enough neck at the nut.
What's your favorite part about this guitar?
My favorite part of this guitar is how easy it is to play up the neck on the 9th,10th, 11th fret. It is so easy to articulate every note when I play a passage in the upper register. I am also amazed at how much voice this guitar has. It projects enough to fill a room.
If you didn't know the price of this guitar what would you estimate the price to be?
If I picked this guitar up in a store and it had no price tag I would think it had to be no less than $1,000 and that would seem like a good deal.
How would you rate customer support?
I would rate customer support as A-One. The first guitar I received was damaged in shipment by UPS. I called Dennis Jr. on the phone and he told me to have UPS pick it up and he would send another at no cost to me. Within one week I had the second one arrive in perfect condition with no additional cost.
Would you recommend this guitar to others…if so why?
I would absolutely recommend this guitar and have done so. The materials and workmanship are excellent. After owning mine for four years it is obvious to me this guitar sounds better as the wood cures. I have confidence that like Gibsons, Martins and the like this guitar will no only keep it value but increase as time goes by. This guitar is suited to somebody just starting to play as well as the seasoned professional.

I would love to see a Zager archtop acoustic with carved top. Well, I can dream can't I?

How does this guitar compare with your old guitar, other guitars, or guitars you've tried in stores?
As to my background, I have been playing guitar since I was 10 years old and will be 61 on October 7th. I'm a professional singer/songwriter (who works in medicine on the side, lol). I played a solo professionally around the Memphis area and on the road nationally for about 16 years before going into medicine. I've owned 5 different "high-end" Martins, and, only one (an actual prototype I lucked up on in '79 from Martin and Kurt Listug's first "Okay, we've built these, now let's go try and sell em' on consignment to music stores around the country road trip" in the late 70's)had remote similarities in tone to this guitar...but it had a jumbo body with Brazilian rosewood back and sides. I've also had 3 Larrivee's, but only one, a $4700.00 L-10QMC made for the '94 L.A. NAAM show, had remotely near the same resonant tone of this instrument in that it, too rang like a bell...but it was bottom heavy...and this guitar is as close to perfectly balanced as I've ever been lucky enough to find. There have also been several Tak's, Strats, Pauls, and myriad other "work guitars" along the way blah, blah, blah. My point is simply that I'm no novice by a long shot. That being said, this is easily one of the best guitars I have ever played! I swear to god I actually caught myself on tape night before last remarking to myself while in my studio assessing this guitar that I felt like I'd stolen one of James Olsens!", lol! In the end, I suppose that the best recommendation I can give for what you are doing Mr. Zager is to add that I'm unloading every single guitar and piece of gear I don't need just to enable me to buy a few more examples of your work in different body styles. I have never enjoyed playing a guitar any more nor suffered so very little for playing for so many hours on end!
What's your favorite part about this guitar?
The playability combines with the tonality to, literally "chime" as if the guitar had some kind of ingrained "vibrato-ish" trait. That's rather nice;) And the overall build quality and attention to detail rivals that of anyone out there. Really beautifully done green heart-of-abalone binding as well that, by all rights at this price point, shouldn't even be there.
If you didn't know the price of this guitar what would you estimate the price to be?
Having paid several times more than this for accoustics, I have never had anything that really rivaled this particular instrument so, $4000-5000+ I suppose. Collings-ish. Froggy Bottom-ish. This one, at least, is absolutely in that league of guitars. That's where it belongs.
How would you rate customer support?
Denny, Jr.'s tactful professionality coupled with an apparently genuine concern for whether you are pleased, happy, and, informed as a customer ranks the entire experience a ten. As to all the praise for the promptness of Denny Jr.'s replies to online queries, it's all warranted and well-deserved. In short, the entire experience was a very pleasant and impressive!
Would you recommend this guitar to others…if so why?
I have, needless to say, already done so as I have several friends that are session players that I've already forwarded the website to and will take mine along to each and every opportunity to turn any guitarist friends on to these because, if this one's an indication, they'll simply sell themselves. If enough of a semblance of this sound and playability gets imparted to the other guitars he builds as a result of the uniqueness of his bracings, tweakings, and general "String Science" set-up to allow them to all have these same sorts of characteristics, I don't know how anyone could possibly go wrong with buying his work.
Additional comments:
Speaking as a person with a life-long love of guitars and the playing of them, I sincerely hope my sheer joy at discovering Denny Zager's affordable genius somehow results in helping to sell a few more of these guitars because by turning out instruments of this caliber, he's certainly got it coming!...Very Sincerely, John Anthony(Tony)Sloan

How does this guitar compare with your old guitar, other guitars, or guitars you've tried in stores?
This was my first one, I had not played before. I didn't know what to look for other than to follow the advice of not getting too cheap a guitar, nor going way overboard to start out.
What's your favorite part about this guitar?
I bought this guitar in 5007 and began my journey of learning this instrument. At first it was hard to tell much about the playability and quality but now after steady practice I can ssy this guitar is great. I've now had the chance to try others and the feel of the Zager is just so much easier to finger and the sound is really nice. I've been told by others that the playability is better than many guitars. The finish is top quality. I find I can play this with less strain on my fingers.
If you didn't know the price of this guitar what would you estimate the price to be?
$750-1,000
How would you rate customer support?
First rate, everything you hear about the quality of service is true. All those testimonials on their site are there for a reason.
Would you recommend this guitar to others…if so why?
Yes, because from a beginners perspective, this guitar helped me learn easier and more enjoyable.

How does this guitar compare with your old guitar, other guitars, or guitars you've tried in stores?
I play mostly electric guitars. Although I do have a couple of cheap acoustics, but I had been looking for a nice acoustic electric. I had been looking at some mid to high end Martins etc. when I found the Zager. I think my Zad-80CE is just as nice or nicer looking than the others, but I believe it is easier to play and the tone is incredible.
What's your favorite part about this guitar?
It is a beautiful guitar and it stays in tune better than any guitar I have ever owned.
If you didn't know the price of this guitar what would you estimate the price to be?
I would compare it to what I was looking at before buying my Zager...Around $2500.
How would you rate customer support?
A++ They go above and beyond expectations! I have Emailed Dennis on a few occasions. Dennis always replies right away, usually in just a few minutes.
Would you recommend this guitar to others…if so why?
I have already recommended this guitar to others. I have a friend that plays professionally, I had him play it....He was totally impressed!

I own a Martin D-15 which I love, but the Sigma Martin DR-42 with Zager EZ play sounds great and plays much easier. I also own a couple of Alvarez acoustics. The Sigma Martin with Zager EZ play system has a very crytal bell like sound and projection and the set up makes it the best playing guitar I own...If I'm going to play for a long time this is the guitar of choice. Everyone who sees this guitar asks about it...I just let them play it and watch their response..which is usually a smile and a look of bewilderment...no kidding.
What's your favorite part about this guitar?
The overall resonance of the guitar...has very clear balance tone and the string winding on the tuners is very innovative...makes a big difference, so much so I started restringing all my guitars this way even electrics.
If you didn't know the price of this guitar what would you estimate the price to be?
The guitar has a solid spruce top and rosewood back and sides..with abalone inlays and rosette. I would say a guitar with this sound and features would cost $700 - 1000 range.
How would you rate customer support?
When I sent an email to ask about the string winding, I got a prompt response and an email link that showed the restringing process and the reasoning behind it, quite unique and interesting approach.
Would you recommend this guitar to others…if so why?
While I don't own a Zager, just a Sigma Martin modified with Zager EZ play ...I have to say if they're like the guitar I bought, I would highly recommend it.
Additional comments:
The Zager videos are simple and homespun but within them are some great little gems of information that I can't believe I never knew. After playing for 30+ years...its great to find out there are some guitar basics that I never thought of before, information that makes a difference....and best of all its free. I lucked into the Sigma Martin Dr-42 with Zager EZ play that I own...hopefully you luck into one too...btw...great molded Zager case with the guitar.

How does this guitar compare with your old guitar, other guitars, or guitars you've tried in stores?
I have tweaked my old Yamaha FG340 over the years to be very comfortable as a practice and travel guitar. My Martin M-36 is also quite comfortable to play but niether of them compares to the Zager for ease of play, intonation, and sound. The 80CE compares to the higher end Martins, Bedells, Breedloves, and others I have played in stores.
What's your favorite part about this guitar?
It is difficult to pick just one thing but the excellent quality will describe both the construction and the sound.
If you didn't know the price of this guitar what would you estimate the price to be?
$1800 to $2500.
How would you rate customer support?
AAA. Absolutley the best I've ever encountered.
Would you recommend this guitar to others…if so why?
YES! And I have already. The reasons? Superb quality, exceptional value, unbeatable customer service.
