If you demand the best this is it. When we have a customer come into the shop with a $5000 acoustic who’s looking for that type of quality and sound but with easier playability, the 900 is the only guitar we go to. Unlike our 20 and 50 Series guitars Denny uses a special bracing system on the 900 that allows the face to move half a millimeter more giving it more projection and power. When you hit a string on the 900 you feel it resonate through your gut. There’s very few guitars today that can do this, especially new guitars, and when you find one it’s usually the price of a small car. Read more

Denny braces the cutaways a little differently then his full box guitars so sound quality matches. If you’re a player that spends a lot of time on that part of the neck a cutaway box is invaluable. |

It tends to have a warm pinkish/tan hue to it. Spruce offers a tight, punchy low end response with great projection. Players who demand a powerful sound with tons of projection will hear the benefit of a Sitka spruce top. Used on only the highest quality acoustic guitars in the world. |

What's your favorite part about this guitar?
BEING A SENIOR AND HAVING ARTHRITIS IN MY HANDS, I WAS NOT ABLE TO PLAY AS MUCH AS I WANTED DUE TO PAIN. SINCE I HAVE RECEIVED YOUR GUITAR I HAVE BEEN ABLE TO PLAY AS LONG AS I WANT TO, NO PROBLEMS.THE LIGHT ACTION IS TRULY E-Z PLAY BUT WITHOUT GIVING UP ANY SOUND QUALITY.
If you didn't know the price of this guitar what would you estimate the price to be?
IT WOULD BE IN THE 1500 RANGE OR BETTER

How does this guitar compare with your old guitar, other guitars, or guitars you've tried in stores?
Mostly been a rocker with a Fender Strat, but always loved the full sound of the full dread nought size. Played many, but they never felt right or were too rough on my calloused fingers, so I never bought one thinking none were right for me.
What's your favorite part about this guitar?
Plural answer OK? Since purchase I've been playing it like my Strat with flat pick and my self-styled finger picking. The 50CE plays just as well, BUT tuning with the Grover heads is makes staying in tune a breeze, though the only time I really need to is when I put on new strings. Love the on-board tuner and equil...
If you didn't know the price of this guitar what would you estimate the price to be?
If I saw a price tag of, say, $1500-2000, I'd probably say, 'What's not to love?' After all, the only expense I put into this guitar was $18.00 for a strat button on the neck.
How would you rate customer support?
A+++ I feel like I'm emailing a friend
Would you recommend this guitar to others…if so why?
Yes - playing is believing
Additional comments:
Next week, I'm going to 'band camp' actually National Guitar Workshop (5 days) for the 4th year, working on serious finger picking for 2-3 years now and I'm bringing this guitar with me to a class (2 of the days)with David Bromberg. Great neck and string spacing.

How does this guitar compare with your old guitar, other guitars, or guitars you've tried in stores?
It was my first guitar. i now have a 65 Epiphone 335 (dot) and a Gibson VOS 1957 Goldtop. I had it rewired with 4 push/pull pots. Vol pots turn humbucker into single coil, tone pots take it out of phase, and put it in series. very versatile guitar. I have NO need for another acoustic. lol
What's your favorite part about this guitar?
All of it. and the fact that everyone that plays it is blown away. Friend of mine has a Martin, nice guitar... Until he played mine. He was amazed at the tone and playability. I played his Martin. Did I say play? I mean I fought his Martin.

Gotta remember, this was my first guitar. I did my research (It had the highest rating on Harmony Central of all Acoustic Guitars) My neighbor just finished playing it, I put new strings on it today, and he was blown away. I asked him if I should use a Medium string, he said "dont fix it if it isn't broke" lol He said the SP martins are made for that guitar. He wants to borrow it for church, funerals, etc... Now I guess I need a case for it... lol Terry Davis 239 Badger Circle Roxboro, NC 27573

How does this guitar compare with your old guitar, other guitars, or guitars you've tried in stores?
My old Guild (G37) is a classic guitar with deep rich tones, and the Zager isn't near as deep with the bass, but it's overall brightness of sound is clean and full. It is easier to play on the lower 9 frets, but is not quite as easy on the barre chords higher up (I don't know if my saddle is a little too high, as friends have taken notice of the high saddle). I should call to ask. It plays well overall, and sounds excellent, so I find myself playing for long periods of time. (And enjoying it!)
What's your favorite part about this guitar?
The overall outstanding craftsmanship in which it was made. The care to detail, and it's beautiful finish and look. I had an issue with the sitka spruce (cosmetic grain of the wood), and at first did not like it. Denny Jr. was very up front with me and gave me every option with the guitar (keep and play it for awhile, send back for refund, wait for exchange, etc...). It was excellent advice as the marks have grown on me, and I look at it totally differently now. I find myself staring at it's beauty and uniqueness, and I have to put a plug in for the beautiful abalone detailing! The sound is also excellent, so that is why I can't see myself letting this one go.
If you didn't know the price of this guitar what would you estimate the price to be?
I'm not much of a price guy, but easily twice the cost, and that is why this guitar was such a fantastic find (and deal). I did play some Yamahas that were easy to play and did sound good (twice the cost) , as were some of the lower end Martins, but the ZAD50CE is right there with them in my humble estimation.
How would you rate customer support?
Excellent would be the rating, as I have had nothing but positive transactions with Denny and whoever is emailing back. The before mentioned issue was so well handled by Denny as he totally understood where I was coming from. He gave me every option to handle it, whereas another company wouldn't go there in most cases. I am a proud owner of a guitar that is extremely well built, in which the manufacturer stands 100 percent behind, and will be more than willing to help out if there is a problem. What more do I want?
Would you recommend this guitar to others…if so why?
Very much so. For the very reasons mentioned and answered before this question. Outstanding craftsmanship (hard to find nowadays!), high end quality, excellent customer support, and excellent sound. All good reasons to do business with you!
Additional comments:
Thanks for being so affordable, and great to do business with, and for the great product. My only wish is to put gold Grover's on because I love gold with the light browns of the African Mahoghany, and the saddle issue which may need to be resolved? I measured the height of the strings at the 12th fret and it is 3/16" and almost 4/16" (1/4") at the last fret? It plays well, and sounds great.....so? I also feel as many others did, that the case is great. It is a nice case for the money, and looks great, not to mention the humidity reader! Thanks again for everything.

Customer support is unparalleled. Several years after I bought the guitar the nut broke when a home repairman knocked the guitar off its stand. Zager told me how to remove it and send it in to them. They custom made a new one for free and had it back to me in a matter of days. You can't get better customer support period.

How does this guitar compare with your old guitar, other guitars, or guitars you've tried in stores?
The action is superb, comparable with that on my Gibson Les Paul (I'd have to be honest if pressed and state that the Les Paul's action is better, but not by much, and then, it would also be many times more expensive to buy new). The tone is more pleasant, mellow yet bright, than my old guitar
What's your favorite part about this guitar?
The action! Barre chords are easy now!
If you didn't know the price of this guitar what would you estimate the price to be?
Pass - I have no idea about guitar prices, since I don't shop for them often. I feel the price I paid for this guitar was very reasonable, though
How would you rate customer support?
Excellent: I made a typo in my mailing address, and there was a mixup on the courier's part, which customer support alerted me to and put right immediately. As this was a Christmas gift, and in the 7 days before Christmas, I was very grateful they took so much time to ensure the guitar arrived where it should
Would you recommend this guitar to others…if so why?
Yes I would, for tone, playability, looks (it's gorgeous!) and affordability

Pity Zager don't ship overseas. Plenty of people would understand there's an extra cost and be willing to pay it, I'm sure.

Thank you Denny for a fantastic guitar. It is literally a work of art. And thank you Dennis for you incredible time and patience with my questions.
