In designing the ZAD50 Denny wanted to build a guitar that had the special details you see in only $2500 instruments. Things like a Venetian cutaway box design that allow you to slide your hand down low “into” the guitar for easier playability. This guitar can be described in one word. Awsome. Better than any guitar I played in the stores. Better than $5000 and $3000 dollar guitars I was playing in the stores. These were the back room stock, not the rack guitars out front.
What's your favorite part about this guitar?
The finish on this guitar was beautiful. The action and playability out of the box was astounding. The upgrade case was an unexpected benefit.
If you didn't know the price of this guitar what would you estimate the price to be?

This is the nicest guitar that i have ever owned nice deep tones as well as a very even overall sound. this guitar was set up well, the intonation is real nice in playing all over the neck. The only guitars that i've played in stores that are this nice have ugly price that are not.

What's your favorite part about this guitar?
The neck, absolutely. Visually, the binding and attention to detail are striking. But, in a dark room, it's the neck, and of course, the sound!
If you didn't know the price of this guitar what would you estimate the price to be?
A couple thousand, minimum. There are certainly more expensive instruments, out there, but it's doubtful, if there are many that are better.
How would you rate customer support?
I've not needed them yet. But, I'm betting that if the Zagers put the same effort into Customer Support that they do the guitars, it's ginna be a good experience.

Gibson,Martin, and Yamahas are great, but Zager guitars are the best! to own one of their high- end guitars I have to pay triple for what I paid for my Zager guitar.However,the playability of Zager is three times better than any of those I mentioned.
What's your favorite part about this guitar?
The beauty, the quality, but to me the playability is now my top priority.When I play my other acoustics I can't play for more than thirty minutes then I have to stop because my fingers are hurting.Playing my new Zager is a breeze.It's really true a very easy to play guitar.the only thing it doesn' do is play itself.

Yes. The ease of playing is a big plus with this guitar. But even more important is the teaching method that Denny employs and the rapid progress that comes from using his technique and practicing as he describes.

This guitar is amazing. I researched and played a few guitars before finally deciding on this Zager. I played some a Martin around the time of purchasing this guitar and consider it to be as solid of quality as the Martin.

This is a quality instrument that competes well with the big boys. Zager delivers an exceptional product and I can't imagine being disappointed with the product. Anyone looking for an incredible guitar at an affordable price needs to look into Zager.

The quality is as good or better than anything I have ever played or owned over the last 40 years. The finish is beautiful, the sound is superb, and it really is EASIER to play than anything I have ever played before.

I've owned some very high end guitars - from Fenders, Martins, Guilds, and a custom made Frank Gay and I'm as impressed with my Zager as anything I've ever owned or played. I've only had the guitar a short time but I love it already. It is in the top 3 guitars I've owned and I've no doubt it will quickly take over as #1.

I was looking at Tayor guitars in the local shops and played several of them. I would have to say that the Zager ZAD80CE OM that I got plays as good as if not better that the $2,500.00 Martin I was looking at.
What's your favorite part about this guitar?
I like everything about it. But if I had to choose one thing it would be how easy it is to play. It is alot easier to play bar chords on than most acoustic guitars and you dont have to press as hard to get the note to sound clean.

This guitar is absolutly the best one I own. I have an Ovation Legend since 1972, A very great sounding guitar, but not the easiest to play, A Carvin 980, beautiful guitar. It plays fairly easy and sounds good, but the body is so large that it is uncomfortable to play while sitting. I also have a Ibanez semi hollow electric and a Carvin Bolt kit I built Both good but need to plug in. The Zager is as easy to play as a well set up electric and the sound and action gets better every day. The guitar is beautiful to say the least. I used to go to the music store to play guitars I could not afford. I have tried them all. Now I go to see if any one can make a guitar as good as my Zager for under $3000.00 NO ONE HAS

Ite is not as 'clunky' as my Ibanez classicial thin body electric, and holds a tune better. And ir is MUCH easier to play than my big Guild D-55.
What's your favorite part about this guitar?
The CE - cutaway electric - allows me to get way up the neck, and the OM - orchestra model - is 15% smaller, making for easier playing. The built in controls are nice, but the integrated tuner really makes for easy, accurate tuning.

For an instrument this precise I would pay 50% - 100% more than I did.
How would you rate customer support?
Support is second to none. Classic underpromise and overdeliver. The free shipping got it to me 48 hours after I placed my order. Then customer support said the hardshell case was on backorder, but it arrived in a cardboard box inside a hardshell case. They had a prototype (improved) case with humidor and indicator they gave to me at no extra charge. Not to mention the extra set of strings, picks, documentation, and a signed concert picture.
Would you recommend this guitar to others…if so why?
I would highly recommend the Zager family guitars - for this is a true family business - to anyone. I was instantly a better player because of the neck construction, custom string placement and the low, easy action. No buzzing. I compared it to my other guitars and I sounded much more professional.

Did I mention this was a blem? That consisted of about 4 pinsized marks on the side near the jack. Even I cant see it unless the guitar is on its side and I am right on top of it. I am considering sending my $2500 Guild to Denny to see if he can do the Zager magic to it like he has to so many other high end guitars over the decades.

i have some excellent, great-sounding guitars, but no expensive big name ones except maybe my older McPherson, which i bought at a bargain price on ebay, but my Zager 80ce-om has a fuller, sweeter deeper sound and it does it much easier than the others. it has a fuller resonance than my other guitars even tho it's a somewhat smaller orchestra model. it's a beautiful, friendly-sized guitar with a big guitar sound!

the sweet, mellow tone is absolutely fantastic! and it projects its full deep round sound so easily! the tones are complete and clear and so easy to achieve that my 80ce-om makes me want to pick it up and pick it! the woods are top grade tone woods, put together and trimmed to perfection! it plays so beautifully unplugged that plugging it in and taking advantage of the great Fishman electronics is almost an afterthought! a great guitar should be great plugged or unplugged, and my Zager 80ce-om is great all around All-American guitar!!

i would guess at least $2,000-$3,000. i've played big name, big reputation, big buck guitars in stores and i wouldn't trade my Zager 80ce-om for any of them even money! if the price were based on sound and playability my Zager would cost many times what i payed for it new from Denny Zager!

so far, with the contact i've had with Zager & co. i would rate them at the top of my guitar-buying experience! they answer emails promptly and friendly and with caring understanding and reasonable accomodation. i don't anticipate having any guitar issues to bother them with, given the high-quality of their guitars, but if i did i know they'd help me out to the max!

so far, with the contact i've had with Zager & co. i would rate them at the top of my guitar-buying experience! they answer emails promptly and friendly and with caring understanding and reasonable accomodation. i don't anticipate having any guitar issues to bother them with, given the high-quality of their guitars, but if i did i know they'd help me out to the max!
Would you recommend this guitar to others…if so why?
i absolutely reccomend Zager E-Z play guitars to every player i know, and especially my 80ce-om! it's the perfect sounding, perfect playing, perfect sized and best looking guitar around! and for the direct-buy price from from Zager it's a world-beater!!

How does this guitar compare with your old guitar, other guitars, or guitars you've tried in stores?
I bought a guitar three years ago and I have to say that it defeated me. The neck was too wide and the body too big for me to hold comfortably. The strings were set higher and hurt my fingers. My new Zager guitar is smaller (OM size) and the strings set closer. My old guitar had a nice sound. The Zager guitar has a beautiful sound - I love to strum the strings.
What's your favorite part about this guitar?
My favorite part of this guitar is the sound - it inspires me to play.
If you didn't know the price of this guitar what would you estimate the price to be?
I would guess it to be 3 or 4 thousand - it has all the features of a top quality guitar. My guitar teacher was impressed with it as well.
How would you rate customer support?
They are easy to get ahold of - when I was shopping for it, I could contact them online with immediate response. I haven\'t had any reason to contact them lately, but I plan on trying their on-line lessons at some point.

Absolutely I would recommend it. It has everything I was looking for and I doubtI will ever shop for another guitar again. It is worth it to buy the best.
