How does this guitar compare with your old guitar, other guitars, or guitars you've tried in stores?
This is the only accoustic I have ever played that did not kill my fingers after a few minutes. It came in around 1PM today and I played it for 3 hours. Then I called one of my buddies over tonight and we played it for another 2 hours and my fingers are still good for more.. I normally play a Gretsch Country Classic that frets like a dream so my fingers are not real tough, and after several hours on the Zager my fingers are still good. Great Guitar and the other folks In the Band will get a chance to try it out in 2 days. Get ready for more orders from some of them. I picked on a new Martin one of the girls bought 2 weeks ago for about 10 mins. and my fingers started barking so this girl id in for a surprise when she plays my Zager.
What's your favorite part about this guitar?
How easy it is on my fingers and the great sound. Plus it is beautiful and crafted to perfection
If you didn't know the price of this guitar what would you estimate the price to be?
I played a $3500 Martin 2 weeks ago and I would not even think of trading my Zager for the Martin. If I didn't know the price and just went by the sound, craftsmanship and ease of play I would Guess over $3000

How does this guitar compare with your old guitar, other guitars, or guitars you've tried in stores?
I have a friend with a $4000 Martin bought about 10 years ago that doesn't look as good as my ZAD80CE. I like the sound of my ZAD80CE (bought in 5006) just as much as his Martin and the ZAD was only one fourth the price. I can't tell any difference in sound except that the Martin plays a little louder with the thicker strings my friend uses on it. I can not justify $3000 more for a guitar that sounds the same. And, the Martin has the much sought after Brazilian Rosewood back and sides. Again, the playability of the ZAD is superior and I can't tell any difference in tone. That makes the ZAGER a better deal in my book.
What's your favorite part about this guitar?
Ease of playing, the sound, the fit and finish in that order.
If you didn't know the price of this guitar what would you estimate the price to be?
$2500 - $3500 new at a retail guitar store

I can't say enough good things about Zager service. Doing business with ZAGER GUITARS is a pleasure. Outstanding fast support and courtesy is what you get with ZAGER. They have shown me repeatedly that they honor the 100% return policy that is stated in the website. True story - The first guitar I received in 5006 had a slight flaw on the finish that I believe happened in shipping. I contacted Dennis Jr and he immediately responded without question providing me with a return prepaid shipping label and said to keep the extra goodies that came with the guitar (shirt, strings, pictures, picks, etc). He immediately sent a replacement guitar that I have to say is truly beautiful. The grain direction, the finish, the setup are all perfect! I love this guitar! And another set of goodies came with it! I play a lot in my shop which is quite a bit colder than my house. I did not want to keep exposing the ZAD80CE (a full size) to the temperature fluctuations going in and out of the house so I decided that I wanted a second guitar to just keep in the house. I ordered a second, smaller guitar from Zager, a Parlor Mahogony. When it arrived (in just 5 days from Nebraska to Seattle) I found that I did not like the shortened neck that is standard on the Parlor/Travel series. I contacted Dennis Jr and once again, he immediately responded without question providing me with a return prepaid shipping label and again said to keep the extra goodies that came with it. I asked Dennis to replace the Parlor with a ZAD80CEOM Orchestra Model. Dennis sent the more expensive replacement out before I even posted the Parlor back to him. The OM is on it's way to me now and the Parlor is just going to UPS today! Really, that's good service. No questions asked. Just answers. Well done ZAGER GUITARS!

How does this guitar compare with your old guitar, other guitars, or guitars you've tried in stores?
I own a 30 year old Japanese Dixon, and have owned a vintage Kay. Also have tried out many guitars of every brand in my search to get the right guitar. I was looking at top of the line Martins, ovations, Gibson, etc. New and vintage models and the prices ranged from 2,400 to several thousand dollars. I can honestly say that there was not a single guitar I tried that played any easier or sounded better than my Zager.
What's your favorite part about this guitar?
Parts. I cannot pick just one, its playability is first, second is the sound, and on top of it all it is absolutly beautiful. It also helps that everyone that sees and plays it turns green with envy.

I own 12 accoustic guitars most are Epiphone, Ibanez, Crafter and a Martin. I was out to purchase another top line guitar like the Martin and was looking at the Gibson song writer Studio and the SJ500. I saw the reviews on your guitar and took a chance. There is not just one favorite thing about my Zad80CE It is crafted beautifully and the sound resonates so warmly, exactly the way you expect an accoustic to sound. It's sound with or with out being plugged in is simply amazing. I have always had troubles with my fingers touching other strings especially on some tougher chords. This guitar make me sound good and I don't touch the other strings. It fits me perfectly and is so easy to hold. No big dents in my finger tips. the first night I recived it I played and was mesmorized by the sound and feel and almost 5 hours later I wasn't sore. This has never happend with any other guitar. I am in love :.)
If you didn't know the price of this guitar what would you estimate the price to be?
The Gibsons and the Martins I was looking at prior to purchasing this one were all around 2700 to 4000 dollars. This guitar (Zad80CE) sounds every bit as warm and clear as these did and even better, but to me the ease of playing puts it way ahead of any of these guitars. I would have guessed a minimum price of 4 - 4500 for this quality. I am not kidding it is this good.

I had several questions prior to purchasing this guitar and Dennis and Jill answered almost immediately on everyone of them. They even went so far as to pick a specific wood grain that I was looking for as they had a few of the Zad80CE's and I wanted one that was as dark as possible and they did a great job helping me out. I was totaly impressed with the little extra touches that came with the guitar. A photo of Denny checking out the guitar, the certificate, some picks, a set of strings, info on help line should I need it etc. This means a lot to me and it shows they take great pride in their product and the customer satisfaction. I never got anything extra from any other guitar I purchased with the exception of the Martin that came with a case. The personal touch is something I like to do in my business and was a very nice bonus on this purchase.

How does this guitar compare with your old guitar, other guitars, or guitars you've tried in stores?
I own 12 accoustic guitars most are Epiphone, Ibanez, Crafter and a Martin. I was out to purchase another top line guitar like the Martin and was looking at the Gibson song writer Studio and the SJ500. I saw the reviews on your guitar and took a chance. I am so glad I did as this guitar blows all of them away and is much easier to play then any I own or have tried. Thanks so much

I've owned Ovation, Gibson, Yamaha, and Fender. My wife probably said it best shortly after I received this guitar and first started strumming it. She said, "Wow! Growing up I ALWAYS wanted a Martin, but after reading about Danny's Zager ez-play and then listening on-line, I had to try one. Now that I have it, WOW! The sound is TRUELY OUTSTANDING! The lows are incredible and the highs reach without that "twang" that others seem to produce trying to reach for the highs. Amplified I'm even more impressed! I REALLY LOVE THIS GUITAR and am not at all sorry I did not get a Martin!

I don't want to dog another company but I have an Odessa 12 string, an Alvarez acoustic electric, aYahama acoustic electric, an Austin classical guitar and a small Martin travel guitar. Each of these are decent guitars but I seldom play anything but my Zager. My ZAD80CE is the best. I've also owned an Ovation and I tried a few Martin guitars and Gibsons. Some of the above guitars cost more than my ZAD.
What's your favorite part about this guitar?
My zad80 is a beautiful instrument. It looks like a much more expensive guitar. I love the mellow tone; it is well balanced and it is so comfortable to play. I can practice for hours without any soreness at all.
If you didn't know the price of this guitar what would you estimate the price to be?
I really did expect that I would have to pay at least $3,000 for a guitar to get the quality that I wanted. If I didn't know the price, I would have guessed the ZAD80CE would cost at least that much and probably more, between $3,000 and $5,000. The owner of a local music store tried my ZAD80ce. He asked if I would mind telling him what I paid for it. He insisted that I couldn't possibly get an American made guitar of this quality for the price.
How would you rate customer support?
There was a minor cosmetic problem with my 1st ZAD. It didn't affect it's sound at all. I contacted Zager and it was replaced without question. I don't know what other company would do that and they paid return shipping. I even bumped the guitar on the edge of my guitar case and caused a small dent. I told them and even offered to cover the damage but they took care of it with no question or additional cost to me.
Would you recommend this guitar to others…if so why?
I not only would recommend Zager guitars to others, I have recommended it to friends. One of our choir members liked the sound of my guitar so much that she decided she wanted to learn to play. She purchased a ZAD 50ce. I know the Zager string technology makes the guitar easier to play but this new student practices for hours at a time. She has not experienced any soreness at all.

I got my 80CE with cutaway and spent a fair amount of time comparing it in a local music store against Martins, Takemine's and Larrivees - my favorites - up to the $3500 price range. I actually prefer my 80CE to them all. It's not that the others are not fine, but for $1000, I have a beautiful guitar that has a similar inlaid look to those priced over $2500, sounds as good or better, plays better AND has a pickup and in board tuning. The latter may not mean much to a pro, but for an amateur like me, it's wonderful to take just a few seconds and tune accurately every time I pick up the guitar. And while I said my 80CE sounds as good or better, I should say that I think it sounds better than most of the ones I compared it to in the group mentioned.
What's your favorite part about this guitar?
I have no favorite part. I like the looks, the construction, the playability, the sound, the onboard tuning system and even the support of the company. Hell, I like the fact that Denny Zager signed the damn thing.

If it's not as good for a fraction of the price, send it back. That's what I did thinking I would end up with a Martin D50, but preferred the Zager 80CE that I bought.

I am a Novice, I took lessons as a kid and now back into playing again. This is buy far the best sounding guitar I have used. My Les Paul is not as easy to play as well as heavy. May sell the LP now. The $350 Yamaha was nothing compared to this.

Besides its beauty, easy play, electric, and construction. It sounds so pure. The first time I strummed this guitar it was so rich and soulful. I can't seem to put it down.

I own 14 guitars, 6 of them acoustic, none of them can touch the Zager. It plays with more depth, with crisper 'enunciation' between strings, and with a touch light enough to play for hours.
What's your favorite part about this guitar?
How well it ages. The sound gets better and better and it still holds its' tune even with my pulling on the strings and bending notes frequently.

Minimum of a few thousand, it easily compares with Martins.

Would you recommend this guitar to others…if so why?
Though I have only had my 80ce for a few days I would recommend it to anyone who wants a quality guitar at a reasonable price.

I am a skeptical buyer, especially on line, and the absense of negative reviews appeared supiscious to me. I read every review I could find and decided to take the chance on a Zager. The lifetime warranty, 40+ year history along with the money back garantee took away all of the risk. I am blown away by the quality of appearance and sound.

How does this guitar compare with your old guitar, other guitars, or guitars you've tried in stores?
I have a collection of 7 acoustics and one electric. I have a Martin HD28 a Gibson Songwriter, a Guild 50, craftsmanship it is as good as any guitar including my Martin. Sound wise my Zager is brand new I am sure in a few monthsit will break in and be right up there with my top 3 guitars.
What's your favorite part about this guitar?
Boy that is a tough one . Humm. If I had to pick one thing I would have to say the smoothness of the neck, my fingers seem to just glide over the fretboard. So easy to form a chord or hit the notes.
If you didn't know the price of this guitar what would you estimate the price to be?
I have to tell you that a few of my buddies were over the house and when I showed them my new Zager 80ce. they all thought it was over over $2000.00 guitar. When I told them it was $1100.00 shipped to my door they were amazed.
How would you rate customer support?
I could not ask for any better service. Denny Jr. is very eager to please. when have you ever heard of getting an answer to a question with 5 mins. Most places I have dealt with and there has been quit a few, it was once they got your money they forgot you . NOT WITH ZAGER, it is just the opposite. I know you will have a pleasant surprise if you buy from the Zagers. You will also love your guitar as I do.
Would you recommend this guitar to others…if so why?
I would definitely recommend even my closest friends, and family to buy a Zager guitar. 100% Quality Product, service A1, any time you call. What more could a player want.

How does this guitar compare with your old guitar, other guitars, or guitars you've tried in stores?

I have a Guild, a Wechter Pathmaker Deluxe and a Boulder Creek and a Boulder Creek ECRM-4N and the Zager is head and shoulders above these. It has a rich, full voiced sound all across the width and length of the fretboard. It stays in tune as well as any guitar I've ever had (30 years of playing). It has quite a lot of volume--it really projects. The playability surpasses the other guitars I have: excellent low action, no string buzz--very easy on the hands. The electronics are first rate--they deliver the sound the guitar produces.
What's your favorite part about this guitar?
The sound. I've been looking for this sound in an acoustic guitar for a long time.

My previous guitar is a Martin, that I purchase for my daughter at a cost of $2,228.oo plus tax. My zager guitar is on the same league as the Martin and in some areas it is better. ie. In terms of craftsmanship, fit and finish the Zager is superior, in terms of sound, the Zager is better in the midrange and high tones, base is a slight advantage to the Martin. Volume and clarity of sound is an even match. The biggest advantages of the Zager is in the area of playability. This is a guitar that is very comfortable to play and confidence inspiring. I feel comfortable takin greater risk and using chords that I would otherwise avoid. In terms of cost the Zager is half the cost of the Martin.

Sound.
If you didn't know the price of this guitar what would you estimate the price to be?
Between $2,250.00 to $3,000.00 At a retail store.

Absolutely yes! #1 Because of the sound quality. #2 Playability, very easy to play. #3 Cost. They are that good! in my mind I payed 50% of what the guitar is worth.

I currently play a Martin but was looking to add a Gibson CJ45. After a friend told me about the Zager, I contacted Dennis and the rest is history. I am more than pleased with the quality, playability, performance and sound of this instrument. It far surpasses anything that was said about it. It truly is a quality instrument at a more than reasonable price. Not only does is sound and play well but it is a work of art as well.
What's your favorite part about this guitar?
This is by far the easiest guitar I have ever played and the sound quality is Superior. I highly recommend this to any player, from student to professional. I am sure they would be as pleased as I am.

The Zager ZAD80CE has superior tone over any guitar I have played in stores or any that I own. The action is refined, but not so far that it becomes too sensitive to temperature changes. The refinement still allows the guitar owner to further refine if so desired. Overall, the combination of the string spacing, and action truly does make the guitar easier to play clean notes.
What's your favorite part about this guitar?
By far, the best attribute of this guitar is the tone. There are several close seconds; the trim and finish are beautiful, the components are very high quality.
If you didn't know the price of this guitar what would you estimate the price to be?
I think the guitar is priced correctly. The tone and finish are very, very good. Some might say as good as a $3500 gibson, but the high price tag on a gibson isnt just because of its quality, but more so based on it\'s resale value and longstanding reputation. The resale value is largly based on popularity and consumer perception.

As I am not a professional guitar player, I can only state how it feels,looks and sounds in regards to others I have played and the one that I own: Simply stated there is no comparison! the ZAD80 has such an incredible richness in tone, it is every bit as easy to play as the advertisement says, weight feels perfect and the workmanship simply superb!

Zager has without doubt the best customer support I have encountered anywhere, emails are answered very quickly, answers to questions are given freely and completely so even someone that does not know guitars can be assured they are being given the best advise: Case in Point; when I wrote and said I was unsure of which model would be best for me as a beginner, I was given an entire explanation of what to expect from the ZAD50 and the ZAD80 with the ZAD50 (the lower priced model) being recommended to me. The only reason I decided to go with the ZAD80 instead was its sheer beauty. The customer support is unbeatable and this type of honesty and knowledge is priceless.

In a heartbeat, quality, quality and quality! I found I was dealing what totally honest and professional guitar maker, willing to provide explanations and guidance.
