My father uses rosewood over ebony on the fret boards on all of our guitars. Over the last 50 years he’s seen more issues with frets springing on the ebony boards due to its denseness and to the dedicated ear ebony fret boards actually put off a slightly tinnier sound then rosewood which sounds richer and warmer.
