  • Same as our full size ZAD900, just 15% smaller making it easier to hold for smaller players
  • Solid Sitka Spruce/Indian Rosewood, curly maple binding, full abalone and pearl inlay.
  • Players buying the 900OM are coming from Martin OOO Eric Clapton, Taylor 8 and 9 Series

If you demand the best this is it. When we have a customer come into the shop with a $5000+ high dollar acoustic who’s looking for that type of quality and sound but with easier playability, the 900 is the only guitar we go to. Unlike our 20 and 50 Series guitars Denny uses a special bracing system on the 900 that allows the face to move half a millimeter more giving more projection and power. When you hit a string on the 900 you feel it resonate through your gut. There’s very few guitars today that can do this, especially new guitars, and when you find one it’s usually the price of a small car. Read more

Zager Pro Series guitars play a little easier and sound a little more powerful than our regular series instruments. The woods are aged longer. The finish is applied thinner so the sound board moves half a millimeter more when the strings are hit providing a deeper bass response. Each piece of abalone and pearl is laid by hand and in combination with grover tuners that “pop” to the eye. Most customers buying our 900 Series are touring artists and veteran musicians coming from high level Martin, Taylor, Santa Cruz and Gibson. Denny did extensive testing in designing the 900 and sent it to veteran players and artists around the world who put it up against the finest guitars made. Pros say the 900 outperforms guitars at twice its price point (sometimes more), but playability is easier and price is less than half since you’re buying direct from our workshop in Lincoln, Nebraska versus retail stores.

Be sure to read artist comments and magazine reviews on the 900 as it consistently rates in the top 5% of acoustics made world wide. 100% money back guarantee including shipping fees both ways. It’s a lifetime instrument so it comes with a lifetime warranty. Truly a work of art with a stunning sound that will get better year after year.

  • Smaller “OM Size” Orchestra Model. 15% smaller than full size. Similar to Martin OOO and Taylor Grand Auditorium. Narrower hour glass shape sits lower in your lap making it easier to pull in close under your arm. Thinner body provides a slightly thinner sound but doesn’t overpower mics in the recording studio.
  • Solid wood construction sounds better every year as it ages.
  • Hand carved bracing for greater movement of the soundboard providing a richer sound.
  • Slim neck design feels natural in your hand making it easier to form chords.
  • Custom string spacing for greater speed and accuracy (and less rattles).
  • Zager soft touch fret design for less string bite and finger fatigue.
  • Adjustable truss rod to raise or lower action depending on your playing style.
  • Special ultra thin high gloss finish allows more movement of the body for deeper sound
  • Hand carved bone nut and saddle. (Found on predominantly $1500+ guitars).
  • Hand laid abalone inlay rosette with pearl fret markers.
  • Ivory binding detail and zipper stripe down back (Found in predominantly $1500+ guitars).
  • Genuine Grover tuning machines (best in the world).
  • 100% money back guarantee
  • Lifetime warranty

OM Style

Orchestra models (referred to as OM's) have a body that is 15% smaller then our full size guitars. They have a slightly narrower hour glass design which make them sit lower in your lap so they're a little easier to get your arm around, especially if you're smaller in stature or if you have a larger mid section. Neck size and scale length are identical to our full size guitars.

Grade A Sitka Spruce Top Top

Sitka which is known for its strength and durability comes from the Northern coast of British Columbia up into Alaska. It tends to have a warm pinkish/tan hue to it. Spruce offers a tight, punchy low end response with great projection. Players who demand a powerful sound with tons of projection will hear the benefit of a Sitka spruce top. Used on only the highest quality acoustic guitars in the world.

Indian Rosewood Back-sides

One of the most popular and traditional guitar woods of all time. Where mahogany lends itself to the midrange, rosewoods sonic profile is deeper in the low end. Not to take anything away from mahogany as many players will find it difficult to tell them apart, but the dedicated ear will notice a deeper, richer, sweeter tone coming from a rosewood guitar. Many players don’t know that cedar is one of the few woods that can outperform spruce when paired with rosewood which is why Denny uses a Western red cedar top with Indian rosewood back and sides on his 80 series guitars.

Hand Bent Figured Maple Binding

Figured Maple binding is not only beautiful to look at but it also protects your guitar from bumps and nicks in daily use. Found generally on guitars exceeding the $2000+ price point.

Mahogany with Inlay Neck

Mahogany—one of the most popular tone woods used on acoustic guitars for the last 50 years. Complete with hand laid contrast inlay.

Indian Rosewood Headstock

Indian rosewood is commonly found on high-end guitars. This wood is heavier and more dense than mahogany and also is very stable and resonant. East Indian Rosewood is dark brown with sometimes purple-brown streaks giving a pleasant figure. The guitar head stock configuration is a registered trademark and is used under license from C.F. Martin & Co. Inc. of Nazareth, Pennsylvania, USA.

Zager Design (Hand Scalloped) Bracework

The technique of scalloping or shaving the braces can have a huge impact on the power and tone of an acoustic guitar. By shaving or reducing the thickness of the brace, it becomes more flexible and therefore lets the top move more freely. When done by a Master Luthier the brace maintains its structural integrity, while making the top more efficient. The result is faster attack, longer sustain, more bass, more power, and an overall improvement in the whole tone system.

Full Abalone Inlay Inlay

Abalone inlay is found on only the highest quality guitars. Laid by hand one piece at a time, the color and translucence of each piece changes with different amounts of light. Not only does it add to the overall look of your guitar, but it also adds to the value. Our 900 Pro Series guitars have an inlay rosette around the sound hole in combination with inlay around the entire face as well as small cross fret markers going up the fret board

Pearl Cross Fret-markers

Used on only the highest quality guitars. Laid by hand on the fret board one piece at a time. It's a very tedious, time consuming process but the results are breathtaking

Figured Maple Inlay Back-detail

This accent matches the guitars figured binding and abalone inlay perfectly to give it that extra expensive look of a pro series guitar. Laid by hand one piece at a time. Adds to the overall beauty and sets off the color of the wood. Found on only the highest quality guitars in the world.

High Gloss Finish

High-gloss finish provides excellent protection but at the same time is extremely light and elastic. This is a crucial point in both the sound of the guitar and its ability to age—which is what makes a guitar sound better year after year. A thick finish muffles a guitar's vibration and blocks aging.

Custom Adjustment Setting Truss-rod

Denny designs his guitars with a truss rod adjustment setting that allows you to dial in your guitar to your particular playing style. In this way if you're a heavy handed player you can set the action higher so you can "get on it" a little for more power, and if you're lighter handed touch player you can dial in the action low so you can move faster and play longer with less fatigue.

Genuine Grover (gold) Tuning-machines

Genuine Grover sealed tuning machines are found on only the finest guitars made. Look at tuners on $2500+ acoustics and you will see the majority have "Grovers." Unlike open gear tuners where the tuning mechanism is exposed, Grover sealed tuners contain a lubricant that keep the tuning mechanism sealed air-tight so the gears turn smooth and continue to for the life of your instrument. Lifetime warranty. If you have a tuner go bad we'll replace it free of charge for life.

Bone Hand Carved Nut

Denny hand carves his nuts from bone for each guitar so the strings are set lower with custom spacing. Lower string heights make it easier to press down to form chords and it also increases finger speed. Custom spacing allows you to move faster with less buzzes, mutes, and rattles because you’re no longer bumping adjacent strings. Custom string spacing makes it easier for all hands sizes big and small. Lifetime warranty. Break a nut and we'll replace it free of charge for life

Tusq Hand Carved Saddle

Denny hand carves each saddle for each individual guitar. Denny also adjusts the intonation settings to bring the guitar harmonically in balance with itself. This not only makes your guitar easier to play, but it also makes it sound more powerful. Customers say our guitars fall into tune easier and stay in tune longer...this is one of the reasons why. Denny uses only genuine "Tusq" brand saddles on his guitars which you generally only find on higher dollar acoustics . Lifetime warranty. Break a saddle and we'll replace it free of charge for life.

Zager Custom Lights Strings

Zager custom strings are designed by Denny exclusively for his Guitars. We have customers using all brands and gauges of strings on our guitars with excellent results (Elixir, Martin, Fender, Gibson, D'addario) but these are the strings our customers seem to like the most on our guitars. Hand wound daily in our shop in Lincoln, Nebraska.

Zager Soft Touch (Hand Filed) Frets

Denny hand files each fret one at a time on every guitar that leaves our shop. By filing the frets Denny achieves two important things. When sliding up and down the neck your fingers will no longer get irritated and sore and you won't suffer from what we call "String Bite" and overall finger fatigue. Secondly, when you file the frets by hand each fret will have the same uniform height. 9 times out of 10 when you have a buzzing string it has nothing to with your playing, it’s because you have a guitar with a fret that’s sitting away from the fret board hitting a string.

Lifetime Warranty

Our warranty is simple. Lifetime on all guitars. A quality guitar should be made to last a lifetime and if it doesn't it wasn't a quality guitar to begin with.

How did you hear about this brand?
Searching for acoustic guitars on the internet.

How does this guitar compare with your old guitar, other guitars, or guitars you've tried in stores?
I've been playing guitar for almost 40 years now. In that time I've owned many different brands. Martin, Gibson, Fender, Seagull, Epiphone, Alvarez, Ibanez, Washburn, Cordoba, Squier, Takamine, etc... My Zager Zad900CE is by far the best sounding, playing guitar I've ever owned. The craftsmanship and fine detail that Denny Zager puts into his guitars is exquisite. Looks like a fine piece of art.
If you didn't know the price of this guitar what would you estimate the price to be?
$4500+

How would you rate customer support?
2nd to none. Best customer service I ever knew.

Would you recommend this guitar to others…if so why?
I would and I have. The ZAD900CE easily competes with some of the best and most expensive guitars there are at a fraction of their price.

Additional comments:
If you're planning to spend a lot of money on a higher-end Martin, Taylor or Gibson I recommend trying a Zager ZAD 900CE first. This is a fantastic guitar not to mention customer service that is 2nd to none. Comes with a lifetime warranty and there's absolutely no risk to try one. If you decide for whatever reason you are not satisfied Zager pays shipping both ways.

How did you hear about this brand?
I came across the Zager Guitar website shortly after purchasing a Gibson J45. The reviews and photos online peaked my curiosity. I was not 100% satisfied with the Gibson J45 and came across these beautiful looking Zager guitars with stellar reviews by everyone that had one. I saw that there are quite a few professionals using Zager guitars as well and that impressed me most so I decided to place an order. The reviews all looked too good to be true but due to Zager's 100% money-back guarantee I decided to take a chance. While I was waiting for my guitar to arrive I went to a few music stores and played several guitars. Martin, Taylor, Gibson, and other brands as well. Some of the guitars I played were in the $2200-$6000+ price range. Finally I got my Zager. It was packed perfectly and was in tune right out of the box. I was blown away by not only the sound but by the appearance as well. This is a well made, gorgeous looking guitar that sounds great and plays like a dream. Denny Zager has his craft down and does it right.

How does this guitar compare with your old guitar, other guitars, or guitars you've tried in stores?
In my almost 40 years of playing guitar I've owned quite a few. Every brand from Martin, Gibson, Fender, Alvarez, Cordoba, Squier, Ibanez, Alvarez, Sigma, Washburn, Epiphone, Seagull, etc... No guitar I've owned or played can touch my ZAD900CE. The reviews and advertisements for Zager Guitars are all true. You can believe it or not. All I can say is if you're planning on spending $3000+ or more on a guitar try a Zager first. There's nothing to lose as they will pay shipping and insurance both ways if you are not satisfied. Best customer service I've ever come across.

What's your favorite part about this guitar?
It's hard to pick a favorite. I love everything about this guitar but if I had to choose I guess I'd say the sound. Unplugged and plugged in. The Fishman Aura System on this guitar is amazing. It reproduces the natural sound beautifully.
If you didn't know the price of this guitar what would you estimate the price to be?
Easily $4500-$5500. Just the looks and appearance alone compares to guitars that cost that much. The beautiful solid Spruce top with rosewood back and sides, the abalone inlay, the hand bent maple binding, mother of pearl, etc... Gorgeous.

How would you rate customer support?
Dennis, Jr. provided me with the best customer service I've ever experienced. He was very professional in his approach and answered every email (and I sent a myriad of emails to him with my questions) usually within 10-15 minutes of contacting him. Not only that but I ordered the standard wooden hard shell case and was pleasantly surprised to find that he upgraded me to the higher end case for free. Threw in a very nice Zager capo, extra strings, picks and of course the Zager T-Shirt! Zager's record with the BBB, a long with thousands of satisfied, happy customers speaks for itself. I will definitely be buying more guitars from the Zager family. I already have my sights set on the ZAD80CE.

Would you recommend this guitar to others…if so why?
I would and already have without question. This is a very well crafted, beautiful looking guitar that plays like the ads say. My friend owns a nice Taylor which is a very fine guitar. He loved my Zager and couldn't believe how well it played and sounded.

Additional comments:
A great product with the best customer support... What more could one want?!

How did you hear about this brand?
Searching for a small, high quality solid wood guitar, I came across YouTube videos and the Zagerguitar.com website.

How does this guitar compare with your old guitar, other guitars, or guitars you've tried in stores?
It is a very attractive instrument, and obviously very well-made. Since it is a solid mahogany guitar, it is resonant and has good sustain, given its smaller size.

What's your favorite part about this guitar?
Very pleased about the sound that comes from this 3/4 size instrument. My other 2 guiitars are dreadnoughts, and the purpose in selecting this one was to be small enough to take on trips. This fits the bill, without the tinny sound from other "travel-size guitars that I tried.
If you didn't know the price of this guitar what would you estimate the price to be?
$600-$700

How would you rate customer support?
Excellent, very responsive. Quick replies to even to my simplest questions.

Would you recommend this guitar to others…if so why?
Definitely! It is easier to play, as advertised. I am only a beginner, but our musical family has several (four, to be exact) experienced players, and they are all impressed with the quality of craftsmanship and playability. We regularly have family gatherings, and most times we share music. The Zager is one of the first guitars grabbed when we bring out the instruments!

I was searching Ebay for a good used acoustic electric and I noticed an add for Zager easy play guitars. Curiosity got to me, so I checked out the web site, read the reviews, and started researching the Zager brand.

How does this guitar compare with your old guitar, other guitars, or guitars you've tried in stores?
There is no comparison with the guitars I've owned. This new ZAD20CE sounds fantastic, brand new, right out of the box. I'm impressed with the the tone, especially the deep, rich bass. I didn't expect that from a cut away. If it sounds this good brand new, I'm excited to hear it as it ages.

What's your favorite part about this guitar?
The tone, low string height, comfort of the neck, beautiful looks and craftsmanship, over all playability. It's everything it's advertised to be.
If you didn't know the price of this guitar what would you estimate the price to be?
$1800 - $2000.00

How would you rate customer support?
10 + out of ten. I always received a response from Dennis within 20 minutes of sending an e-mail. Denny Zager's company is first class all the way, from his product to the employees.

Would you recommend this guitar to others…if so why?
Yes absolutely. I don't think you're going to beat the quality at the price they sell them for. They also back all there guitars with a 100% guarantee.

Additional comments:
Denny and his son run their company the right way. They have an outstanding product at a great price, with customer service that is second to none. How can you beat that??

How did you hear about this brand?
Thru extensive research the brand continuously made the top of the list

How does this guitar compare with your old guitar, other guitars, or guitars you've tried in stores?
Overall quality is a cut above

What's your favorite part about this guitar?
The quality of this guitar makes choosing a favorite part of the guitar itself but what most stands out is the quality of the support both before and after the sale
If you didn't know the price of this guitar what would you estimate the price to be?
I personally do not know enough about acoustic guitars to estimate prices but for the quality I consider the price I paid to be very fair.

How would you rate customer support?
I do not believe that there is another guitar company that can even come close to the quality of the customer support both before and after the sale. How many name brand guitars can you pick up the phone and immediate support or email and always get a response within 24 hours even on Saturday or Sunday. I do not think that you will find another company that will come even close.

Would you recommend this guitar to others…if so why?
Absolutely because of the customer support alone would be enough to justify recommending these guitars then once the quality comes into play I do not believe that it would be possible to find a better choice.

Additional comments:
The quality and price of these guitars is exceptional that plus the level of support a person could not ask for a better combination
